Charles Clanton Rogers

Reflections based on poetry, music, visual art, book reviews, history of science, first-person history, philosophical essays and International Blogging

Vestol Pauline Clanton Rogers born in Altus, Oklahoma, January 4, 1911.

My mother was one of the first girls in Oklahoma to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree and did it in The Great Depression!

Oklahoma College for Women, class of 1932.

She delivered me to school every day, at least fifteen minutes early, washed, fed, in clean clothes, with my previous day’s homework completed, and a packed lunch bag. Mother also worked to pay my tuition through 4 years of college and another 4 years through medical school!

Mother was a teacher and a lifelong student and, lovingly,  blazed a trail for me.
