Kill Your Darlings
Sweetly she sings,
Vocals, like the sound of the wren,
High pitched and toned,
Beating in the wind,
Cutting edge,
She risks, her heart,
Only to find,
It shaded and shun,
A shadow without the sun,
Darling little one, broken,
And fractured,
Kill the mood, emotions beguiled,
The veins perse, bleed from the inside,
Weeping,
Razor sharp,
Hazardous to her heart,
Her song, she sings,
A potion to cast,
Unrequited love.
Dolls Alive
Lying limp in the fields,
A wilted stem and rose,
Buried under emotions,
Dead and decayed,
Little by the little she withers away,
Lifeless,
Enate; her limbs spread,
Her wallow heart, heard throughout,
The more she sheds, the further the sound,
Resonates and ricochets across the lea,
A compass of indirection, broken by the span of time,
Southwest, northeast; a confusing melody,
Towards a bracken ridge,
A shallow pond and a mound,
She followed a path of bounds,
Lost in the earths cradle,
A crib of warmth,
Sleeping in a conceptual lie.
Melt
Melting candles,
Dipped in wax,
Laboured breath,
Intoxicated in the debris,
Scent of vanilla and smoky cathedral walls,
My mind can’t let go; enthralled in grief,
Eyes closed,
Suffocated by the shadows,
Crawling,
Gasping, on bent knees,
Tearing open,
Rending, in wake,
A wreath of laurel,
Kneeling please,
The altar, the coffin;
take centre stage,
A cross upon the final resting place,
Withered flowers to lay,
veil to hide my face.
Jennifer on Jennifer
As a child, my imagination would run wild, conjuring up magical stories and characters. I loved creativity writing. I owe my love of writing to my mother, who would read to me every night.
It wasn’t until I started university, as a mature age student; that I realised writing was no longer a hobby, but something I wanted to take seriously.
Like most writers, the passion and need to write, took over and became so much more than an interest. Yet a profound desire, to put pen to paper. To share a little part of me, with others.
So here I am; a writer, student, mother and most recently a blogger at Ink and Quill. Ink and Quill is a collection of my poetry, prose and fiction. A place of originality and quirkiness. A place where I can express myself, learn, develop and share my writings.
Since starting my blog. I have connected with exceptionally talented people from around the world and my writing has progressed immensely and my love of poetry has flourished. Ink and Quill is a part of me, which I want to share with you.

What I was walling in or walling out,
And to whom I was like to give offense.
Something there is that doesn’t love a wall,”

Good Morning Faraday’s Candle. Thank you. My post is like Tom Sawyer’s Fence. Today, Jennifer was kind enough to do the painting! She did a great job, don’t you agree? D-C

Jennifer’s got the rhythm. To read her poetry is like having/seeing a prima ballerina performing a dance before your eyes.
