We invite everyone to sign in; use the comments section. We will try to fly your flag on Blogger’s GPS
There should be 30 countries. (WP statistics this quarter) Don’t be the last one to check in!
Wow! There are both new blog posts and new comments to comment. Don’t even know where to start.
This time (i.e. this evening according to European time; we are six hours ahead of you in the U.S EDT zone) I decided to visit your interesting blog just to have a look at what’s new.
Here’s my first observation: The number of followers of your blog is steadily growing from day to day, Kung Karl! And that’s a very good token! At least for me, It indicates that people obviously like a high standard of culture. It’s hard to imagine that cultivated and educated people would be prone to go to war. On the contrary.
Your mission, dear Karl, seems to be building connections between people from all over the world, not burning or tearing any existing uniting bridges down. An honorable mission, indeed! Your guiding star is coupled to CONSTRUCTIVENESS, not DESTRUCTIVENESS. If more people were like you, there would be more harmony, concord and agreement and less disharmony, discord and disagreement in the world. That is, less hostility, less conflicts.
Or, in other words, humbleness is a key word to use to describe your manners! That’s why you are worthy of respect.

With that said, Kung Karl, I come to my real errand. I want to share some links with you and your readers/followers in order to trying to create a festive atmosphere here and now.
For example this link: http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-34198390 . It’s about Mike the Rooster, the chicken that got his head cut off but yet refused to die. Horrible but also, at the same time, an interesting and good read. Who needs a brain to survive and live on? *YECs are another good example of how living is possible without using any brain power at all*
Talking of brain and mind, have a look at this video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ir8XITVmeY4 . A very good summary of what we today know – and don’t know – about our minds and brains. A highly recommendable video, in which many interesting quetions are discussed. For example what happens when a special part of the brain, called the claustrum, is stimulated or inhibited. Is the claustrum a kind of switch for our consciousness?
And since the weekend is approaching also in the U.S., what about this link: http://www.dose.com/animals/22969/17-Cat-Pictures-That-Go-Without-Saying-Are-The-Greatest-Cat-Pictures-Ever-Taken-ab911-1 ?
Those pictures I want to dedicate especially to you, Kung Karl, and your two feline friends Darwin and Einstein. *purr purr*
Tomorrow I’ll be back here on yout blog to comment upon your many book reviews. Until then, Karl, have a nice evening and a good weekend! The same wishes of course go to your followers and readers, too.

In the right hands and mouths a saxophone really can be turned to a wonderful music instrument.
Your son Steven knows how to use, handle and play a saxophone. To listen to Steven is like seeing a lion-tamer in action. A kind of interplay in which both man and animal/instrument work together to create miraculous things. It’s like the fundamental theory in Gestalt therapy, in which one emphasizes that the whole of anything always is greater than its constituent parts.
In short, LOVELY and very ENJOYABLE music!

My college history teacher, Professor Fisher (1952-1953) asked me several times; mr Rogers, do men make history or does history make “the man?”
Shakespeare/ Brutus in “Cesar”: “There is a Tide in the affairs of men when taken at the Flood, leads on to fortune!”
Some students are listening. It’s still here after 60 years. c

My internet connection on my MacBookPro is failing to connect. I’m entering this not on an ancient iPad! I can’t adequately edit the site on this. Hopefully I will be back up Sunday.
Don’t anybody wander away into the great forest of the blogosphere!

Dear masgautsen, The Norway flag is up on Let;s play Geography.
Thank you for sitting in Norway’s Delegate Chair.
(The first time I stepped foot in Europe, it was in Norway. Being illiterate in any foreign language, my first act was to walk into the Women”s Restroom! (The Ugly American) :o) ha ha ha Charles

Hello, Maja!
Glad to see you here! I’m Bengt a.k.a. Prins Valiant (PV), from Sweden. But when I look out throught my window, I see the Baltic, not the North Sea.
If there is stormy weather ahead, just call me, and your Prins Valiant will come to your rescue at Stavanger and save you. Here’s a song especially for you, Maja: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_a46WJ1viA .

Hope you liked it. The song, Bridge over troubled water, is not often played nowadays. Unfortunately.
Tell me, Maja, how did you find the entrance into this “ballroom” of knowledge and wisdom that Charles Rogers, a.k.a. clanton18934 a.k.a. KK, has created for us who love fine music and good literature?

KK, I can find North Korea among your flags?
What’s up?
Have you insulted Kim Jong-Un? If so, be careful. I hope you don’t want to be remembered as the guy who started World War 3?

North Korea is or is NOT on the flags. I don’t recognize it? KK

Shush, KK, don’t insult Kim Jong-Un even more. 🙂
Here you can learn what the North Korean flag looks like: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_North_Korea .
Or The flag of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, if you want to be politically correct.

I just stumbled upon this interesting article: http://ideas.ted.com/what-i-learned-from-teaching-english-in-north-korea/ .
It’s about what happens if your brain is primed and brainwashed, from an early age, perhaps without your knowing or understanding it. Anyhow, the article shows kind of a clash of civilizations.
There is indeed a need of building bridges and enhance the understanding of each other.
Here’s a Swedish saying: The pen is stronger/mightier than the sword. Maybe you have the same saying in the US?
Anyhow, more and better education is the cornerstone that helps us building bridges and making peace.
Weapons are for those who fear their neighbors.
So, please, keep on writing and educating, KK, thereby showing you’re a suave man, worthy of imitation.
Making clocks like Ahmed Mohamed in Texas did is OK (see http://www.vox.com/2015/9/16/9336557/ahmed-mohamed-clock-school ). But making weapons, no, that is not the solution of the problems we are facing in today’s world.
I hope that Ahmed some day can join you in your bridge building for better understanding and a more peaceful world, KK!
