Autumn London – Rose Crosby
My name is Rosie, I am a 20 something teacher who has recently moved from the countryside to East London.
Favourite things: Dogs and horses, food, good wine, dancing (I am a salsa dancing addict!), singing and travelling (ANYWHERE and EVERYWHERE!)
Guilty pleasures: Reggaeton (hispanic rap/pop music), anything that combines both peanut butter and chocolate, speaking grammatically poor but decent enough Spanish all the time.
I’m a newbie to the blogging scene but, having been inspired by other lifestyle blogs, decided to start this blog, honestly I find it more refreshing than I thought I would. I never kept a diary as a child (with the exception of one summer when I had to as a school project). Now, I wish I had.
I like writing about the things that I do, the places I go and the things I make/eat (I love food!). You’ll find recipes under the ‘food’ section. I also try and take a lot of pictures to accompany this, as they say, a picture equals 1000 words.

Some seem to think mentoring is selfless work (charitable). I’ve been mentoring since I was a Boy Scout – Den Chief to cub scouts (I was 12, 13, 14; they were 9, 10, 11; one of the cubs grew up to became my medical student! – in his twenties)
Mentoring is not work; Aside from being a father, it is one of Life’s greatest privileges. Also, I always learned more from my students than they learned from me! – really (no one learns more from the lesson than the teacher) I would never have accepted less for “my mission and responsibility – it’s the “Rose” of The Little Prince. c.
(My mother taught in the grades [to immigrant children in Spanish/ English as a second language. I have a son who teaches grades 7-12 music and diversity) I am the fortunate one. c.

Very impressive photos! But they remind me of these words by Truman Capote (and later reiterated by Leonard Cohen): Life is a moderately good play with a badly written third act.

Third acts are part of the “whole play” – I’m making the most of mine. It must be used before the “sell date”! K

As a matter of fact I believe that Leonard Cohen, in an interview, told the reporter almost exactly the same, KK. Because the third act belongs to the play, it’s up to you to enjoy and like it. And make the most, and best, of it.
BTW, Leonard Cohen was born the same year as you, KK.
Seems to be a good vintage, full of palatable tastes.
Can it be a Chardonnay wine? Or, rather, a Charlonnay wine? 🙂

Rosie, My Swedish guardian angel picked up the misspelling of cemetery. I corrected it. Fortunately, WordPress allows me to do that and update the correction. The Day before yesterday, I left out an N in Jennifer. As a teacher, you may be interested to know that I was taught to read whole sentences or more than one sentence in one glance (for speed reading- sacrificing spelling). I can’t spell or pick up misspellings. I’m sorry. c

I would like to do that, and I have some lovely photos of my kids playing various instruments/singing in our recent winter concert. However, due to British child protection laws they can only be used by the school with the parents consent. Thank you for thinking of me though! Rose

That is a shame Rosie! Are there no “stock” approved English schoolchildren photos made for brochures or advertising? English school child photographs is what I want- could be generic (although, I would have much preferred your students! Charles
